Nairo Quintana (Movistar) sealed overall victory at the Tour de Romandie after he finished safely in the main peloton on the final stage to Geneva, which was won by Michael Albasini (Orica-GreenEdge).
Albasini took a thrilling sprint win after his breakaway group was almost swallowed by the peloton within sight of the line. The Swiss rider was one of four survivors in the finale from the 10-man break that had animated the day’s racing.
Quintana finished the race 19 seconds clear of Thibaut Pinot (FDJ), while his Movistar teammate Ion Izagirre took the third spot on the podium, a further four seconds back.
