Stephen Curry led Golden State with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Klay Thompson and Draymond Green added 25 and 23 points, respectively. For the first time in the Steve Kerr era, the Warriors trail a playoff series 1-0. Golden State appeared headed for a better fate, but some sloppy play in the second half doomed them in the end. Oklahoma City took several one-point leads throughout the opening five minutes of the contest, but the Warriors would eventually jump out in front, where they would remain until the final quarter of play. The host team took great care of the ball in the opening quarter, committing just a single turnover to Oklahoma City’s six on their way to a 27-21 advantage after one frame. But as the game wore on, the two sides reversed roles, as the Dubs got too careless, while the Thunder took advantage of Golden State’s miscues.
