Jota struck in the second minute of first-half stoppage-time to fire inside Rui Patricio\u2019s near post, after a rapid move involving Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mane had rounded Patricio earlier in the half but could not force the ball home, and he also sent a diving header wide shortly before Jota struck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wolves had started brightly, Allison saving a Nelson Semedo shot in the fifth minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Liverpool defender Conor Coady sent an early second-half header wide, while at the other end, Patricio denied Salah a late second with a fingertip save.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the Wolves goalkeeper was injured in the incident, colliding with Conor Coady, and was forced off on a stretcher after lengthy treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their first Premier League victory in three matches takes Liverpool on to 46 points \u2013 ahead of Everton on goal difference \u2013 and five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
