MIAMI (AP)<\/strong> \u2014<\/strong> Kevin Durant\u2019s thigh is the new big concern for the Brooklyn Nets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Durant was forced to leave the Nets\u2019 game in Miami on Sunday early in the first quarter with a bruised left thigh, and Brooklyn coach Steve Nash said it\u2019ll likely be Monday at the earliest before the team knows whether it will keep the two-time NBA Finals MVP out of more games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe\u2019ll see how he wakes up and go from there,\u201d Nash said. \u201cBut right now, nothing\u2019s been determined.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Durant exited with 7:57 to go in the opening quarter. He scored Brooklyn\u2019s first eight points of the game before coming out, and the team quickly announced he would not return because of what was being called a contusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI imagine they\u2019re going to assess him in the morning and see if a scan is necessary or not,\u201d Nash said.https:\/\/watch.nba.com\/embed?id=1323501&autostart=false&mute=true<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kevin Durant out with left thigh contusion<\/p>\n\n\n\n Durant has missed 33 games this season, with 24 of those related to a left hamstring injury. He missed six others in accordance with the league\u2019s health and safety protocols related to the coronavirus and three more for injury management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe timing of everything this season, this year, it\u2019s just a telltale sign of what life is right now in terms of the uncertainty of a lot going on,\u201d Brooklyn guard Kyrie Irving said. \u201cAnything can happen at any moment. \u2026 We just pray that it\u2019s not too serious and he\u2019s able to recover.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Durant appeared to be injured on a drive just 1:33 into the contest and missed both free throws \u2014 only the second time this season that he went 0 for 2 on a trip to the foul line.
