Salvatore Puccio y Jonathan Castroviejo ayudaron a mantener el ritmo alto antes de que Filippo Ganna encendiera los poscombusti\u00f3n. El italiano golpe\u00f3 el primero de los cuatro sectores de tierra con Bernal al volante y empuj\u00f3 con fuerza, diezmando el pelot\u00f3n y abriendo enormes huecos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Con un grupo selecto form\u00e1ndose r\u00e1pidamente, Bernal cont\u00f3 con el apoyo de Gianni Moscon y Jhonatan Narvaez, quienes avanzaron, y el segundo clasificado, Remco Evenepoel, se distanci\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bernal subi\u00f3 el ritmo \u00e9l mismo, con el maillot rosa avanzando sobre la grava, antes de lanzar un movimiento propio en la \u00faltima subida para despejarse. Estoy feliz de llegar al frente y tenemos que estar concentrados durante los pr\u00f3ximos d\u00edas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abEl ritmo era muy duro cuando Buchmann se fue y le pregunt\u00e9 por la radio d\u00f3nde estaba en GC. Me dijeron que m\u00e1s de 1\u201d 40 \u201d, as\u00ed que ten\u00eda algo de margen para jugar all\u00ed. Los chicos de EF estaban tirando muy fuerte y cu\u00e1ndo Carthy fue, me fui a Buchmann. Trabajamos un poco juntos y ganamos algo de tiempo con los otros muchachos. Podemos estar felices con este d\u00eda \u00ab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sir Dave Brailsford<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab(Egan) est\u00e1 demostrando por qu\u00e9 todo el mundo se entusiasm\u00f3 tanto con \u00e9l hace un par de a\u00f1os. Ha vuelto y acaba de demostrar que cuando tienes tanta clase como piloto, puedes tener altibajos, pero nunca la pierdes. Ha demostrado una vez m\u00e1s lo bueno que es. Ha trabajado muy, muy duro y se ha sacrificado mucho en los \u00faltimos 12 meses en particular, desde el Tour el a\u00f1o pasado. Ha metido yardas duras y se lo merece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abPero su actuaci\u00f3n, como siempre, se basa en el equipo y el equipo ha sido fant\u00e1stico aqu\u00ed. Desde la primera secci\u00f3n, el objetivo era que Filippo entrara primero en esa primera secci\u00f3n y simplemente dejara el martillo. Lo hizo muy bien y el resto de los chicos construyeron la actuaci\u00f3n sobre eso, paso a paso con Jhonny y Gianni Moscon. Luego Egan lo remat\u00f3 h\u00e1bilmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abHemos cambiado un poco nuestra filosof\u00eda, y en lugar de ir a la defensiva, estamos tratando de salir adelante. Tenemos a los muchachos para hacerlo y est\u00e1n dispuestos a hacerlo. Disfrutan de las carreras de bicicletas, y cuando les das libertad y oportunidad, ellos disfrutan de las carreras. Se emocionan y eso es lo que quieren hacer. Les encanta, se r\u00eden y bromean, se divierten. Salvatore Puccio and Jonathan Castroviejo helped keep the pace high before Filippo Ganna turned on the afterburners. The Italian hit the first of four gravel sectors with Bernal on his wheel and pushed hard, decimating the peloton and opening out huge gaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a select group quickly forming, Bernal had support from Gianni Moscon and Jhonatan Narvaez who drove onwards, with second placed Remco Evenepoel becoming distanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bernal upped the pace himself, with the pink jersey pushing onwards on the gravel, before launching a move of his own on the final climb to go clear. Dani Martinez rode hard on the day to limit his losses, moving into the top 10 overall, 3:!5 back on Bernal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/res.cloudinary.com\/team-sky\/c_crop%2Cw_2501%2Ch_1669%2Cx_0%2Cy_0\/c_scale%2Cw_25\/Giro21St11_scenic_lzbrqd.jpg?w=640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"null\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reaction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8211; Egan Bernal<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abToday was a really hard day and with the Sterrato we expected some big gaps and there were a lot of GC riders who lost time. I\u2019m happy to arrive in the front and we need to stay focused for the next few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abThe pace was really hard when Buchmann went and I asked on the radio where he was on GC. They told me more than 1\u201d40\u201d, so I had some margin to play with there. The EF guys were pulling really hard and when Carthy went I went across to Buchmann. We worked together a little bit and gained some time on the other guys. We can be happy with this day.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Sir Dave Brailsford<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab(Egan) is showing why everybody got so excited about him a couple of years ago. He\u2019s come back and just shown, when you\u2019ve got that much class as a rider, you might have your ups and downs but you never lose it. He\u2019s shown once again just how good he is. He\u2019s worked really, really hard and he\u2019s sacrificed a lot over the last 12 months in particular, since the Tour last year. He has put the hard yards in and he deserves this.<br><br>\u00abBut his performance as always is built on the team and the team have been fantastic here. Right from the first section, the goal was Filippo goes into that first section first and just puts the hammer down. He did it beautifully and the rest of the guys built the performance on top of that, step by step with Jhonny and Gianni Moscon. Then Egan finished it off capably.<br><br>\u00abWe\u2019ve changed our philosophy a little bit, and rather than ride defensive we\u2019re trying to ride off the front. We\u2019ve got the guys to do it and they\u2019re up for it. They enjoy bike racing, and when you give them freedom and opportunity they get this joy of racing. They get excited by it and that\u2019s what they want to do. They are loving it \u2013 they are laughing and joking, having fun.
