El veterano Rigoberto Ur\u00e1n (EF Education-Nippo) ha subido al segundo lugar en la clasificaci\u00f3n general del Tour de Francia casi por defecto despu\u00e9s de que el rival australiano Ben O’Connor se rompi\u00f3 en el Mont Ventoux en la etapa 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ur\u00e1n se ve\u00eda en gran forma casi todo el camino hasta el Ventoux, solo retrocediendo despu\u00e9s de que Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) atacara y Tadej Poga\u010dar (UAE Team Emirates) cruzara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pero el colombiano y Richard Carapaz (Granaderos de Ineos) se encontraron con un Poga\u010dar en apuros. Tras un r\u00e1pido descenso, Ur\u00e1n se dirigi\u00f3 a casa en Maulac\u00e8ne con los otros dos favoritos en el quinto puesto. Con O’Connor fuera del cuadro por el d\u00eda, el segundo lugar en la general fue casi autom\u00e1tico para reclamarlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ur\u00e1n ocup\u00f3 el segundo lugar en el Tour de Francia 2017 cuando termin\u00f3 en el segundo lugar detr\u00e1s de Chris Froome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veteran\u00a0Rigoberto Ur\u00e1n<\/a>\u00a0(EF Education-Nippo<\/a>) has moved up to second overall in the\u00a0Tour de France<\/a>\u00a0standings almost by default after Australian rival Ben O’Connor cracked on the Mont Ventoux on stage 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ur\u00e1n looked in great shape almost all the way up the Ventoux, only falling back after Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) attacked and Tadej Poga\u010dar (UAE Team Emirates) bridged across.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the Colombian and Richard Carapaz (Ineos Grenadiers) then caught up with a struggling Poga\u010dar. Following a fast descent, Ur\u00e1n powered home in Maulac\u00e8ne with the two other favourites in the fifth spot. With O’Connor out of the frame for the day, second place on GC was all but automatically his to claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ur\u00e1n last held second in the 2017 Tour de France when he finished in the runner up spot behind Chris Froome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
