El derechazo de Nathan Ake poco despu\u00e9s de la hora de juego sell\u00f3 la victoria de los Blues y mantuvo vivas las esperanzas de Pep Guardiola de levantar la prestigiosa copa por segunda vez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ambos lados sentir\u00e1n que ten\u00edan la oportunidad de ganar el partido, pero fue un final cuidadosamente colocado de una fuente poco probable lo que finalmente marc\u00f3 la diferencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La primera oportunidad del City lleg\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de un extravagante tiro desde arriba de Erling Haaland quien, despu\u00e9s de que el portero Matt Turner le ganara un pase en profundidad, reaccion\u00f3 m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido y envi\u00f3 el despeje en bucle desde 30 yardas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lo bloque\u00f3 la defensa del Arsenal que cubre pero no puede haber mayor ejemplo de la confianza del delantero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ortega Moreno estaba nuevamente en su m\u00e1xima expresi\u00f3n en el minuto 21 cuando el nuevo fichaje del Arsenal, Leandro Trossard, en su debut completo, se quit\u00f3 el bal\u00f3n de los pies y dispar\u00f3 cruzado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nuestro portero alem\u00e1n estuvo a la altura del esfuerzo, pero fue un recordatorio de la amenaza que representaba este equipo del Arsenal tan cambiado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin De Bruyne parec\u00eda haber roto el empate unos minutos m\u00e1s tarde cuando aline\u00f3 un rulo con la zurda, pero silb\u00f3 agonizantemente fuera del poste de Turner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eso fue solo un breve respiro de la presi\u00f3n del Arsenal, con los visitantes haciendo todo lo posible para forzar el empate. Sin embargo, un City determinado se mantuvo firme por una victoria que significa progreso en la Copa FA y un gran impulso en la fe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nathan Ake: en un partido que podr\u00eda haber ganado cualquiera de los dos equipos, fue un hombre conocido por mantener callados a los atacantes el que tuvo el impacto decisivo frente a la porter\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cuando se le pidi\u00f3 nuevamente que jugara en el lateral izquierdo, Ake asumi\u00f3 sus funciones defensivas con mucho cuidado. Cara a cara con Bukayo Saka, el veloz extremo que ha sido parte integral de la forma del Arsenal este a\u00f1o, Ake fue m\u00e1s que un partido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefan Ortega Moreno<\/a> was the first of the two goalkeepers called into action, palming away Takehiro Tomiyasu\u2019s sweet strike from the edge of the box in the fifth minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City\u2019s first chance came via an extravagant overhead kick from Erling Haaland<\/a>who, after being beaten to a through ball by goalkeeper Matt Turner, reacted quickest and sent the looping clearance goalwards from 30 yards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was blocked by the covering Arsenal defence but there can be no greater example of the striker\u2019s confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ortega Moreno was again at full stretch in the 21st<\/sup> minute when new Arsenal signing Leandro Trossard, on his full debut, shifted the ball out of his feet and fired across goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our German shot stopper was equal to the effort but it was a reminder of the threat this much-changed Arsenal side posed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin De Bruyne<\/a> looked to have broken the deadlock a few minutes later when he lined up a left-footed curler but it whistled agonisingly wide of Turner\u2019s post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In-form Eddie Nketiah had his first chance of the night just after the half hour mark, diverting Trossard\u2019s cross wide of Ortega Moreno\u2019s near post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haaland\u2019s first half comprised largely of racing on to lofted passes sent in behind Arsenal\u2019s defence. The Norwegian\u2019s best chance before the break came in the 39th<\/sup> minute but his dink over Turner fell just the wrong side of the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was a worrying moment for City in the final moments of the half as John Stones<\/a> disappeared down the tunnel holding the back of his leg before he was promptly replaced by Aymeric<\/a> Laporte<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a quiet opening to the second half City rallied and eventually found the opener through Nathan Ake<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dutch defender turned finisher with a right-footed stroke inside the far post of Turner\u2019s goal moments after half-time substitute Julian Alvarez<\/a> had struck the woodwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That seemed to awaken the visitors, who responded with several attacks of their own, but a commanding defensive display frustrated the Premier League\u2019s second highest scorers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a substitute of our own that appeared most likely to add our second goal. With less than 10 minutes remaining, Alvarez found a pocket of space and fired at goal only to see Turner hold on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was just a brief reprieve from Arsenal pressure, with the visitors trying everything to force an equaliser. However, a determined City held out for a win that means FA Cup progress and a major boost in belief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
