Es el primer podio en un Gran Tour de su carrera. Es s\u00f3lo el segundo podio en un Gran Tour en la historia del equipo BORA \u2013 hansgrohe despu\u00e9s de la victoria de Jai Hindley en el Giro de Italia en 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BORA \u2013 hansgrohe subi\u00f3 al podio de la general despu\u00e9s de cada una de las 21 etapas del Giro de Italia 2024. Maximilian Schachmann marc\u00f3 la pauta desde el principio en Tur\u00edn. S\u00f3lo un d\u00eda despu\u00e9s, Dani Mart\u00ednez le reemplaz\u00f3 en el podio gracias a una tremenda actuaci\u00f3n del equipo en la subida a Oropa, y se mantuvo en el podio de forma constante hasta la meta en Roma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El colombiano de 28 a\u00f1os aprovech\u00f3 la contrarreloj hasta Perugia para ascender al segundo puesto en la jornada 7. Despu\u00e9s de una semana, volvi\u00f3 a intercambiar posiciones con Geraint Thomas. Pero esto fue s\u00f3lo una instant\u00e1nea. Dos etapas m\u00e1s tarde, en la etapa reina, Mart\u00ednez recuper\u00f3 de manera convincente su segunda posici\u00f3n. El enfrentamiento de ayer en Monte Grappa tambi\u00e9n dej\u00f3 claro que tiene raz\u00f3n en esta posici\u00f3n: Daniel Felipe Mart\u00ednez es el segundo corredor m\u00e1s fuerte del Giro de Italia 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cConseguir mi primer podio en un Grand Tour es sin duda lo m\u00e1s destacado de mi carrera hasta el momento. Cuando era ni\u00f1o so\u00f1aba con subir al podio de una carrera como esta, por lo que lograrlo es realmente especial. El Giro presenta desaf\u00edos todos los d\u00edas y no di nada por sentado hasta que cruc\u00e9 la meta en Roma. Entonces, a pesar de las actuaciones constantes de las \u00faltimas tres semanas, me mantuve concentrado hasta el final. Estar en una posici\u00f3n de podio en la general durante tanto tiempo y saber que \u00e9ramos un objetivo para nuestros competidores s\u00f3lo aliment\u00f3 a\u00fan m\u00e1s mi motivaci\u00f3n. Quiero agradecer a mis compa\u00f1eros de equipo y al personal que han estado aqu\u00ed durante el viaje durante las \u00faltimas tres semanas. El esfuerzo y la dedicaci\u00f3n del equipo hicieron posible este resultado\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enrico Gasparotto acaba de disputar su tercer Giro de Italia como director deportivo de BORA \u2013 hansgrohe. Su palmar\u00e9s habla por s\u00ed solo: 1.\u00ba puesto, 2.\u00ba puesto, 9.\u00ba puesto y cuatro victorias de etapa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEstamos muy contentos de haber conseguido el segundo puesto en la general por delante de un grupo fuerte. Dani s\u00f3lo fue superado por Poga\u010dar, que domin\u00f3 la carrera. Junto con Bernie Eisel, estoy muy contento con la mentalidad que estuvo presente en el equipo durante las \u00faltimas tres semanas y el compromiso demostrado por nuestros corredores. BORA \u2013 hansgrohe: historia de \u00e9xito en el podio del Giro
En 2017, el Giro de Italia fue la primera Gran Vuelta que el equipo compiti\u00f3 bajo el nombre de BORA \u2013 hansgrohe. Y en el primer d\u00eda de carrera del Grand Tour, el equipo dio un golpe de efecto: una victoria de etapa y la maglia rosa. Siete a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, el Giro de Italia es el \u00faltimo Gran Tour bajo el nombre del equipo BORA \u2013 hansgrohe, antes de que el siguiente hito en la historia del equipo aguarde en el Tour de Francia. El \u00e9xito de Dani Mart\u00ednez cierra el c\u00edrculo exactamente donde empez\u00f3: en el podio del Giro de Italia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Felipe Martinez finishes the 2024 Giro d’Italia in an outstanding second place. It is the first Grand Tour podium of his career. It is only the second Grand Tour podium in the team history of BORA \u2013 hansgrohe after Jai Hindley’s victory at the Giro d’Italia in 2022.<\/strong>
 
BORA \u2013 hansgrohe was on the GC podium after each of the 21 stages of the 2024 Giro d’Italia. Maximilian Schachmann set the tone right at the start in Turin. Just one day later, Dani Mart\u00ednez replaced him on the podium thanks to a tremendous team performance on the Oropa climb \u2013 and held on to the podium consistently until the finish line in Rome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 28-year-old Colombian used the time trial to Perugia to climb to second place on day 7. After a week, he swapped places again with Geraint Thomas. But this was just a snapshot. On the queen stage two stages later, Mart\u00ednez convincingly reclaimed his second place. Yesterday’s showdown on Monte Grappa also made it clear that he is rightly in this position: Daniel Felipe Mart\u00ednez is the second strongest rider of the 2024 Giro d’Italia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a child, I dreamed of standing on the podium of a race like this, so achieving this feels truly special. The Giro presents challenges every day, and I didn\u2019t take anything for granted until I crossed the finish line in Rome. So, despite the consistent performances over the past three weeks, I stayed focused until the end. Being in a podium position in the GC for so long and knowing we were a target for our competitors only fueled my motivation further. \u201cWe\u2019re really pleased to have taken second in GC ahead of a strong field. Dani was only bested by Poga\u010dar who dominated the race. Dani was more than solid in the mountains, and we\u2019re very happy with the strong performance that he delivered this Giro. We can say that not everything went smoothly between the start of our Giro project back in November and crossing the finish line in Rome. However, thanks to the commitment of all the riders, Dani\u2019s good form and the hard work from everybody here in Italy, we were able to make this result happen. BORA \u2013 hansgrohe: success story on the Giro podium<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In 2017, the Giro d’Italia was the first Grand Tour that the team competed under the name BORA \u2013 hansgrohe. And on the very first Grand Tour race day, the team pulled off a coup: a stage win, and the maglia rosa. Seven years later, the Giro d’Italia is the final Grand Tour under the team\u2019s name BORA \u2013 hansgrohe, before the next milestone in the team’s history awaits at the Tour de France. Dani Mart\u00ednez’s success closes the circle exactly where it began: on the podium of the Giro d’Italia.
