This marks the fifth game the NBA has postponed because of issues related to COVID-19 and the league’s health and safety protocols. This also marks the third consecutive game the Celtics will miss because of those issues.
The Celtics’ game against Miami was postponed on Sunday because the Heat didn’t have a minimum of eight players available. Boston’s against Chicago was postponed on Tuesday because the Celtics did not have eight players players available.
As for the Magic, they had seven players out during Monday’s loss to the Bucks all of which were injury related and not related to anything involving positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing. That left them with 10 available players.
