The ITF has announced the draws for the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group and World Group II play-offs, which are taking place on 18-19 April.
Italy, who finds itself fighting for World Group survival for the first time since 2008, has been given a tough draw against USA. The two teams know each other well having met four times in the last six years, including back-to-back finals in 2009 and 2010.
The Italians have won all four of those recent encounters and they will be hoping home advantage will help them win five in a row against the North American powerhouse.
