Front office officials for the St. Louis Cardinals are being investigated by the FBI and Justice Department for hacking into the networks of the Houston Astros that stored information including internal discussions about trades, statistics and more according to a report from the New York Times.

In a statement released Monday, Major League Baseball said it “has been aware of and has fully cooperated with the federal investigation into the illegal breach of the Astros’ baseball operations database. Once the investigative process has been completed by federal law enforcement officials, we will evaluate the next steps and will make decisions promptly.”
