Inter Miami CF anunció hoy la firma del mediocampista Alexander Shaw con un contrato a corto plazo procedente del Inter Miami CF II, su equipo profesional de la MLS NEXT. El mediocampista estará disponible para el partido de hoy contra Orlando City SC en el Estadio Inter&Co.
Shaw, de 17 años, es una de las estrellas de nuestra Academia que actualmente juega con el Inter Miami II. El mediocampista continúa progresando en el Club tras debutar como profesional con el Inter Miami II en julio del año pasado. En su primera temporada a nivel profesional con el Inter Miami II, Shaw disputó 13 partidos y repartió dos asistencias.
El jugador de la Academia debutó recientemente con el Primer Equipo durante el partido inaugural del Club en la Gira de Campeones contra Alianza Lima, entrando como suplente en el segundo tiempo. Shaw se mantuvo activo en el equipo durante la pretemporada, participando como suplente en partidos adicionales contra el Barcelona SC y ganándose un puesto en la alineación titular para el partido contra Independiente del Valle en Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
Según las reglas de la MLS, los acuerdos a corto plazo permiten a los clubes fichar jugadores cedidos por su filial MLS NEXT Pro para la MLS, la Copa Abierta de Estados Unidos, la Liga de Campeones de la Concacaf, el Campeonato Canadiense y partidos de exhibición.

Inter Miami CF announced today it has signed midfielder Alexander Shaw on a short-term agreement from the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro team Inter Miami CF II. The midfielder will be available for today’s match against Orlando City SC at Inter&Co Stadium.
Shaw, 17, is one of our Academy stars currently featuring for Inter Miami II. The midfielder continues making strides at the Club after making his professional debut for Inter Miami II last year in July. In his first season at the professional level with Inter Miami II, Shaw tallied 13 appearances and dished out two assists in the process.
The Academy product recently made his First Team debut during the Club’s opening fixture of the Champions Tour against Alianza Lima, entering as a second-half substitute. Shaw remained an active part of the squad throughout preseason, making additional substitute appearances against Barcelona SC and earning a spot in the starting lineup for the matchup against Independiente del Valle in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
Per MLS rules, the short-term agreements allow clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship, and exhibition matches.
