La Copa MLS 2015 ya tiene a sus dos finalistas: Columbus Crew SC y Portland Timbers.
Tras disputarse los partidos de vuelta de las Finales por Conferencia, se definieron a los dos clubes que irán a la gran final en busca del título de la MLS 2015. En un duelo electrizante, Portland Timbers igualó 2-2 con FC Dallas pero se impuso en el global 5-3, los Timbers ganaron el duelo de ida 3-1, por lo que se coronó Campeón de la Conferencia del Oeste y jugará su primera final en la historia de la MLS.
En un duelo reñido, Columbus Crew cayó 1-0 ante el New York Red Bulls, pero se impuso en el global 2-1 para pasar a la final. El Crew coronó campeón de la Conferencia del Este y vuelva a la final tras siete años de ausencia.
La Copa MLS 2015 se jugará en el MAPFRE Stadium, casa del Columbus Crew, ya que fue el equipo que más puntos acumuló en la temporada regular entre los dos finalistas.

For the first time in the history of the franchise, Columbus Crew SC are hosting an MLS Cup final in which they also will be playing.
Crew SC advanced past the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, dominating much of an anxiety-inducing 1-0 loss at Red Bull Arena and holding on with an aggregate score of 2-1 to win the Eastern Conference Championship. As a result, MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus will host the Portland Timbers, who will challenge Crew SC for the right to call themselves MLS champions on December 6 (4pm ET, ESPN | UniMas | TSN | RDS).

In the 92nd minute, the Portland Timbers clung to a one-goal aggregate-goal advantage in their Western Conference Championship decider against FC Dallas. And that’s when Dallas’ Blas Perez unleashed a stinging shot from close range, that would have almost certainly tied the game and sent the series to extra time.
Instead, Borchers slid in at the last second to deflect the shot out for a corner. Minutes later, Portland would take the ball back down the field and seal their first trip to MLS Cup with a goal from Lucas Melano.
