La Estadounidense Sloane Stephens, quien habia ganado un solo partido en 5 participaciones en el Volvo Car Open, ha logrado desarrollar su mejor tenis esta semana y avanzar a su tercera final de temporada….
Este sábado se media a la Campeona Defensora Angelique Kerber quien se vio desconocida en un primer set que domino Stephens 6-1 y esa condicion se confirmo en el segundo set, cuando estando 3-0 a favor de Stephen, Kerber se retiro, por una afeccion viral. Ahora en la gran final la norteamericana de 23 años se medira a Elena Vesnina quien vencio a Sara Errani en tres sets en la otra semifinal del torneo con parciales de 6-4, 4-6 y 6-2.
Una nueva Campeona se coronará em Charleston, despues de los titulos consecutivos de Serena Williams entre 2012 y 2013. Andrea Petkovic gano en el 2014 y Kerber en el 2015…

Having won just one match in five appearances at the Volvo Car Open, the 23-year-old American has brought her best this week to Charleston, going four-for-four and booking herself in the third final of the season.
Saturday in what was to be a blockbuster semifinal, top seed and defending champion Angelique Kerber was forced to retire due to viral illness, Stephens leading 6-1, 3-0. She’ll face No. 5 seed Sara Errani or Elena Vesnina for the trophy.
A new champion will be crowned in Charleston for the third straight year following Serena Williams’ back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013. Andrea Petkovic won in 2014, prior to Kerber.
