USA TODAY Sports learned Wednesday that Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin have verbally agreed to a Fall 2017 bout at 160 pounds.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya later confirmed the news in a tweet:

On Tuesday, Tom Loeffler came to @GoldenBoyBoxing’s offices and we agreed that the mega fight between @canelo and GGG would occur next fall
Loeffler, who promotes Golovkin, visited the GBP offices in Los Angeles on Tuesday and struck a deal with De La Hoya, who promotes Alvarez.
The Alvarez side has long balked at fighting GGG at the 160-pound limit, but that hurdle has been cleared. The Mexican star will fight on Sept. 17 at 154 pounds against an opponent to be determined and then will begin gradually moving up to 160.

Por el lado del campamento de Canelo Alvarez se confirmo que la pelea se hará en las 160 libras y que el Mexicano comenzara a pelear el 17 de septiembre en las 154 libras para ir avanzadno gradualmente hacia las 160.
