Serena Williams buscara su quinta medalla de oro olimpica en Rio 2016….y  es que han pasado cerca de 16 años desde sus primeros Juegos Olímpicos cuando la juvenil Serena Williams, quien cumplió los 20 años durante su debut en Sydney 2000, lograra su primera dorada. Con su record de 22 titulos de Grand Slam fresco, la Numero uno del Mundo, vive uno de los momentos animicos mas interesantes para lograr el objetivo quinta dorada.

Serena tiene excelentes memorias de las Olimpiadas, pues ha regresado al menos con una medalla de oro en cada una de sus tres presentaciones anteriores en los Juegos Olímpicos, incluyendo Sydney 2000 cuando con su hermana Venus lograron la medalla de oro en Individuales y Dobles.

 

It has been nearly 16 years since the Olympics first welcomed a still-teenaged Serena Williams, who turned 20 years old during her debut in Sydney. Fresh off her record-tying 22nd Grand Slam title, the World No.1 aims to to truly experience the Game for the first time in her storied career.

She may have missed out on some of the pomp and circumstance each Olympics provides, but Serena has nonetheless been a integral part of her sport’s presence at the Summer Games. She has taken home at least one gold medal in each of her previous three appearances – including in 2000 when she helped sister Venus secure a sweep of singles and doubles.
