El Colombiano Esteban Chaves del equipo Orica-BikeExchange, gano la edicion 110 del historio Giro de Lombaria, la ultima de las competencias clasicas de la temporada, despues de recorrer los 241 kilometros entre Como y Bergamo. Chaves se convierte en el primer corredor, no Europeo, en la ganar la prestigiosa clasica.
Chaves supero con 6 horas, 26 minutos y 36 segundos a Diego Rosa de Astana quien llego segundo y a su compatriota Rigoberto Uran del Cannondale-Drapac, quien termino tercero.
Despues de la carrera Chaves califico de un sueño ganar Il Lombarida. No lo puedo creer que haya ganado esta carrera. es Monumental. Cuando pase al profesionalismo, empece aqui en Bergamo. Conocía las carreteras, pero no estaba seguro de ganar hoy. QWuiero agradecer a toda la gente que me ha ayudado para ganar aqui. al final trate de hacer la diferencia, me mantuve calmado para el embalaje final, que no es mi fuerte, pero lo dio todo y estoy muy feliz dijo el Chavito Colombiano.
The Colombian rider Esteban Chaves (Orica-BikeExchange) has won the 110th edition of Il Lombardia, the last Classic Monument race of the season, held over a 241km route from Como to Bergamo. He becomes the first non-European rider to win the race.

Speaking seconds after the finish, the winner said: “It was a dream for me to win Il Lombardia. I can’t believe I’ve won this race. This is a monument! When I turned professional, I settled down here in Bergamo. I knew the roads but I wasn’t sure to win today. I want to thank all the people who have helped Esteban to become a winner here. On the final, I tried to make a difference on the cobbles but everybody followed so I had to stay calm and go for the sprint, which is not my forte but I gave everything and I’m so happy that I made it”.
