Arjen Robben warmed Schwolow’s palms with a curling effort which signalled a greater urgency in Bayern’s game, but Freiburg held firm, limiting the league leaders to seeking scraps around the penalty area. Urged on by the home crowd, Maximilian Philipp unleashed a distance shot which flashed just wide of the far post as the hosts almost snatched a late winner, but it was Bayern who had the last laugh as Lewandowski scored his second in stoppage time to break Freiburg’s hearts and extend Bayern’s lead at the top of the Bundesliga.
