Leonardo Jardim made a few tweaks to his line-up for this game, with Jovetic starting up front, Ghezzal on the left and Tielemans in the hole. The Montenegro forward was first into the action in the 10th minute, collecting possession after a poor clearance by the Strasbourg defence, but his attempt to lob Kamara hit the crossbar. It was not until the final minute of the first half that AS Monaco managed to find a way through, as Rachid Ghezzal sent Falcao running in behind the defence with a beauty of a pass from the centre circle. The Columbian collected the ball and drilled a cross towards the far post for Lopes to beat Kamara from close range and give AS Monaco a 1-0 half-time lead.

Despite not quite hitting full stride in the first half, the Red & Whites came out for the second half determined to put the game to bed. Jovetic battled well to win possession down the left before finding Jorge in the box, and his inch-perfect cross left Falcao with the simplest of finishes to make it 2-0 to AS Monaco. Two became three in the 66th minute as Falcao bagged his second of the game, and his ninth already this season! This time, El Tigre pounced on a misjudged backpass from Mangane to his goalkeeper, to slot past Kamara.

The result sees AS Monaco go back level on 15 points with PSG at the top of the table, having played a game more. Their next fixture is away at Lille on Friday 22 September. Daghe Munegu!
