Christian Atsu scored twice as Ghana beat Guinea 3-0 in Malabo on Sunday to ease into their fifth successive Africa Cup of Nations semi-final.
Atsu set the Black Stars on their way to a comfortable quarter-final victory when he opened the scoring in the fourth minute in Equatorial Guinea’s capital, before Kwesi Appiah increased their advantage a minute before the interval.
And Atsu, the winger on loan at Everton from their English Premier League rivals Chelsea, then saw his cross-cum-shot find the net on 61 minutes to take Ghana through to a last-four showdown with the hosts on Thursday.
Ghana, a four-time champion which last reached the African Cup of Nations final in 2010 but lost to Egypt, will next face host Equatorial Guinea in the semifinals on Thursday in Malabo.

MALABO, Equatorial Guinea (AP) — Wilfried Bony scored two goals Sunday to help give the Ivory Coast a 3-1 win over Algeria and a spot in the semifinals of the African Cup of Nations.
Bony headed in a cross from Max Gradel in the 26th minute after being left completely alone at the far post. The Manchester City forward scored another in the 68th, nodding in a free kick taken by club teammate Yaya Toure.
Gervinho, who was back after serving a two-match suspension, added a third in injury time as the Algerians pushed forward in a desperate attempt to equalize.
The Ivorians, who won their only African Cup title in 1992, will next face Congo on Wednesday in Bata.
