Finally, IndyCar’s reigning champion has a race victory in 2015.
Will Power won that elusive first race in the fifth try, capturing the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis today at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
«That was as good as you get, no mistakes,» Power said of his nearly flawless performance. «We did everything we needed to do to win. Looking back, I can’t think of anything that was wrong with that race.»
Power had just enough fuel to hold off Graham Rahal charging in a Honda. Power gave Team Penske its first road race win at IMS; the power team will be the favorite to capture the Indianapolis 500, which resumes practice Monday.
Luego de 82 vueltas y de una trabajada carrera, el piloto australiano Will Power se impuso sin problemas, este sábado, en el Gran Premio de Indianápolis, quinta válida del campeonato de la IndyCar 2015.
El vigente campeón de la categoría estuvo acompañado en el podio por Graham Rahal y el colombiano Juan Pablo Montoya, quien llegará como líder de la IndyCar a las míticas 500 Millas de Indianápolis, que se disputarán el próximo 24 de mayo.
Para Power fue la victoria número 25 en la IndyCar pero su último triunfo se había producido en la temporada anterior, en el Gran Premio de Milwaukee.
