Defending champion Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic, Eugene Bouhard of Canada and Fatma Al-Nabhani from Oman attended the draw ceremony of the 2016 Qatar Total Open on Friday. The ceremony was conducted by Tony Cho, WTA Tour Supervisor in the presence of Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) and Qatar Total representatives.
Conference held by Yousef Al ObaidlyBoard Member and QTF Secretary General; and Guillaume Chalmin Managing Director Total E&P Qatar and Group Representative. Yousef Al Obaidly thanked the sponsors for their ‘continued support to the tournament over the years’.
In attendance were Tariq Zainal; Board Member and QTF Asst. Secretary General, KarimAlami Tournament Advisor and Board Member and Saad Al Mohannadi Tournament Director.
The brief yet bright ceremony was held at Four Seasons Hotel where local and international media was also present.
The US $ 2.5 million tournament will run from February 21 to 27 at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
