Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr scored in the second period Saturday to reach 741 NHL goals and tie Brett Hull for third place on the League’s all-time list.
Jagr scored at 4:53 of the period against the Winnipeg Jets at BB&T Center. He took a pass skating into the slot and lifted it over the right arm of goalie Michael Hutchinson to tie the game 1-1.
«You know what, I don’t even think about it,» Jagr said this week. «We just have to make sure we play good hockey and I play good hockey. If we’re going to play good, it’s just a matter of time before I score. I just have to make sure we play good.»
Hull passed Marcel Dionne for third on the list on Dec. 8, 2003; Dionne had been third since Dec. 21, 1991, when he was passed for second by Wayne Gretzky.
