SUNRISE, Fla. – With tonight’s 4-1 win against the Montreal Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning’s 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers, the Florida Panthers have clinched first place in the Atlantic Division.
Florida’s division title marks the second time in franchise history that the team has won its division. Florida won a division title in 2011-12, when they earned a 38-26-18 record to clinch the Southeast Division. This season the Panthers continue to extend their franchise record for wins (46) and with a victory tonight have reached the 100-point mark for the first time in franchise history (101).
The Panthers have two games remaining in the regular season, including Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the BB&T Center against Carolina. The complete first-round schedule for the Stanley Cup Playoffs will be released by the NHL on Sunday April, 10.
