Arsenal’s Petr Cech has won the 2015/16 Barclays Golden Glove award after keeping an unrivalled 16 clean sheets in the Barclays Premier League this season.
The Gunners goalkeeper is the sole winner of the prize after David De Gea was denied a 16th clean sheet on Tuesday night by Chris Smalling’s stoppage-time own goal in Manchester United’s 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth.
Cech, De Gea, Kasper Schmeichel and Joe Hart entered Matchweek 38 all tied on 15 clean sheets each, but Cech was the only goalkeeper to take his tally to 16, thanks to his side’s 4-0 win over Aston Villa.
Hart and Schmeichel fell out of the running after their sides conceded to Swansea City and Chelsea respectively.
