Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has won the Barclays Golden Boot award after scoring 25 goals in the 2015/16 campaign.
His impressive haul was the highest by any player in this Barclays Premier League season, one clear of Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.
He was all-but guaranteed of the accolade after Spurs’ campaign finished on Sunday, but he had to wait for official confirmation until Manchester United’s 3-1 AFC Bournemouth brought an end to the season, meaning nobody could catch him.
The 22-year-old becomes the first Spurs striker to claim the award since Teddy Sheringham in the inaugural 1992/93 BPL season, although Sheringham did net one of his 22 goals during that campaign for Nottingham Forest in August.
He is also the first Englishman to win the award since Kevin Phillips in 1999/00, when he netted 30 goals for Sunderland.
