British wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft won her third gold medal of Rio 2016 on Friday (16 September) with a dominant performance in the 800m race at the Olympic Stadium.
On the ninth day of athletics competition at the Paralympic Games, Cockroft blew away a high-class field in the T34 category to finish in a time of 2:00.62.
Cockroft is the reigning world champion and world record holder in the event, which was being held in the Paralympic Games for the first time.
It has been a golden Rio 2016 for the 24-year-old, who won the 100m on 10 September and then the 200m four days later, successfully defending both titles from London 2012.
