MONTREAL — Aaron Ekblad scored with 2:01 remaining in overtime and the Florida Panthers dealt the Montreal Canadiens their first loss in 11 home games this season, 4-3 at Bell Centre on Tuesday.

Ekblad’s stick broke on a one-timer from the right side of the slot for his third goal of the season.

Alex Petrovic, Kyle Rau and Denis Malgin scored for Florida (8-7-1), which won consecutive games for the first time since starting 2-0-0. Roberto Luongo made 34 saves.

Montreal goalie Carey Price’s two-season winning streak ended at 13 games. Price, the first NHL goalie to start a season with a win in 10 straight games, made 20 saves as he fell short of tying George Hainsworth’s 89-year-old Canadiens single-season record of 11 consecutive wins.

Max Pacioretty, David Desharnais and Paul Byron scored for Montreal (13-2-2), which lost consecutive games for the first time this season.

Byron scored his fourth goal in five games to draw the Canadiens even at 3-3. Alex Galchenyuk extended his points streak to six games with an assist on Byron’s sixth goal at 5:46 of the third period.

Pacioretty put Montreal ahead 1-0 with a wrist shot from the right faceoff dot on a power play at 2:12 of the first period.

Petrovic drew Florida even at 1-1 with an unassisted goal at 5:04.

Panthers defenseman Michael Matheson made a highlight reel pass from behind the Montreal net to set up Rau’s goal, which put the Panthers ahead 2-1 at 15:22.

Desharnais scored his second goal, his first in 12 games, at 4:22 of the second period to tie it 2-2.

Malgin, who scored in overtime to give Florida a 3-2 win against the New York Islanders on Saturday, put Florida ahead at 17:42. He scored his fourth goal on a shot from the left side that appeared to strike Canadiens defenseman Jeff Petry on its way past Price.
