MELBOURNE, Australia – The new WTA Rankings are out, and despite a busy start to the 2017 WTA season, there were few changes at the top.

But with a handful of big names missing from this year’s Australian Open, there are still a couple of surprises among this year’s list as these rankings are the ones the seeds are made from for the first major of the year.

With that, here are the projected seeds for the 2017 Australian Open:

The main draw will be released on Friday, January 13, with play beginning in Melbourne on Monday, January 16.
