Los Islanders lograron la paridad a los 10.47 con gol de Nick Leddy para el 1-1. ese resultado se mantuvo hasta el segundo periodo y fue Jason Demers al minuto y .09 del segundo periodo quien logro el de la ventaja y a la postre el de la victoria.

NEW YORK — Jason Demers broke a tie early in the second period and Roberto Luongo made 29 saves, including 12 in the third, to help the Florida Panthers to a 2-1 win against the New York Islanders at Barclays Center on Wednesday.

Keith Yandle scored in the first period for Florida (19-16-8), which has won its past four road games.

Nick Leddy scored and Thomas Greiss made 22 saves for New York (15-16-8), which outshot Florida 12-1 in the third period but lost its third in a row (0-1-2) and fourth in its past five. The Islanders have scored three goals in their past three games, outscored 2-1 each time.

Yandle gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead when he beat Greiss with a slap shot from just below the left circle 5:47 into the game. It was Yandle’s third goal of the season.

Leddy tied it with his sixth goal exactly five minutes later when he took a pass from Casey Cizikas and sent a shot from the point that found its way through a crowd and past Luongo.

But Florida went back in front 1:09 into the second period. After Jussi Jokinen won a faceoff in the offensive zone, Demers beat Greiss with a wrist shot from the right circle for his eighth goal to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead.
