Four-time Australian Open champion Roger Federer is back in the semifinals for the 13th time in his career, setting up an all-Swiss showdown with No.4 seed and 2014 champion Stan Wawrinka after racing past Germany’s Mischa Zverev 6-1 7-5 6-2.
The victory extends Federer’s remarkable record in Melbourne; the Australian Open is his most successful Grand Slam in terms of match victories (85) and semifinals reached.
Everything about the match was quick – the points, the opening set, the brief windows for Zverev to make an impression on the 17-time Grand Slam champion in the second, and the four-game surge from Federer in the third that brought the one-hour, 32-minute contest to a close.

Todo en el partido paso demasido rápido, teniendo en cuenta que se esperaba mas oposicion de parte de Zverev quien habia eliminado al numero uno, Andy Murray, Federer tomo control del partido con un categórico 6-1 y aunque Zverev reacciono en el segundo no le alcanzo y termino perdiendo en una hora y 32 minutos.
En semifinales Federer se enfrentara al Suizo Stan Wawrinka quien superó al francés Jon-Wilfred Tsonga 7-6,6-4 y 6-3.
