Los organizadores del abierto de Wimbledon uno de los 4 Grand Slam de temporada, confirmaron ademas la remodelacion de la cancha principal, incluyendo la instalacion de un techo retráctil, cuya finalizacion se completará en el 2019.
The winner of this year’s Wimbledon singles title will pick up a cool $2.8million, the tournament has announced.
That is a ten per cent increase on last year’s prize money.
Overall, there is a prize fund of almost $41million – nearly double what was on offer at SW19 just six years ago.
Players will now pick up just over $45,000 for making it through qualifying to the first round..
Organisers also confirmed that the remodelling of No.1 Court – including the installation of a retractable roof – is on course to be completed for the 2019 tournament.
