The Jamaican, who along with Mike Rodgers looked sharp out of the blocks, looked to have the race won with 70m gone, but Gemili, as he did in the heats, demonstrated swift top-end speed to move into contention. The line came too soon for Gemili, though; he’ll nonetheless be pleased with his two runs today with the British trials due next weekend.
Rodgers, who fell behind through the middle section, closed smartly for third in 10.09.
