PARIS, France – Ana Ivanovic stormed through her third round clash against WTA Rising Star Donna Vekic on Friday morning to become the first player into the second week of the French Open.
The No.7-seeded Ivanovic was on complete fire early on, reeling off seven games in a row for a 6-0, 1-0 lead. She wasn’t out of the woods yet – Vekic held to get on the board and then broke for a 2-1 lead – but Ivanovic got right back on the horse, winning five of the next six games to close it out, 6-0, 6-3.
