Aleksander Barkov scored the shootout winner and Jaromir Jagr moved into fourth place on the all-time NHL scoring list when the Florida Panthers defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 at BB&T Center on Sunday.
Jagr’s 732nd goal broke a tie with Marcel Dionne. The goal came with 11.5 seconds remaining in the first period with the Panthers on a power-play. Jagr took a cross-ice pass from Aleksander Barkov and one-timed it past Canucks goalie Ryan Miller at the side of the net to tie the game 2-2.
Miller left the game because of an apparent injury after Brandon Pirri scored against him in the shootout. Backup Jacob Markstrom entered the game and denied Jonathan Huberdeau before allowing the eventual winner to Barkov. Miller made 37 saves, including six in overtime.
