RALEIGH, N.C. — Willie Mitchell scored his first goal of the season early in the third period, and Roberto Luongo made 24 saves in the Florida Panthers’ 2-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena on Friday.
The Panthers (17-12-4) won all three games on their road trip. The Hurricanes fell to 12-15-5.
Mitchell ended his 36-game goal drought at 4:09 of the third period. Jonathan Huberdeau curled in the corner before sending a pass across the slot to Mitchell for a one-timer at the bottom of the right circle. Aleksander Barkov picked up the second assist.
Mitchell had not scored since April 2.
Reilly Smith scored his 11th goal into an empty net with 21 seconds remaining in the game. He has a goal in each of the past four games.

Smith a anotado goles en cada uno de los ultimos 4 juegos.
