Nairo Quintana se coronó Campeón de la Tirreno-Adriatico por segunda oportunidad en 3 años, despues conservar su diferencia en la ultima etapa una contrareloj individual sobre 10 kilómetros en San Benedetto del Tronto que fue ganada por Rohan Dennis del BMC.
Dennis impuso su condicion de embalador a una velocidad promedio de 53 KMP.
El Colombiano de Movistar, termino 45 en la etapa a 41 segundos del ganador, pero con tiempo suficiente para mantener el liderato por 25 segundos sobre el segundo en la general Dennis.
En el 2015, Quintana asumio en el Monte Terminillo igual que en esta edición y mantuvo su condicion hasta la etapa final.
Nairo Quintana (Movistar) won Tirreno-Adriatico for the second time in three years on Tuesday after he safely negotiated the short final time trial in San Benedetto del Tronto, which was won by Rohan Dennis (BMC Racing).
Dennis scorched around the course at an average speed of 53kph to pip early pace-setter Jos van Emden (LottoNl-Jumbo) by three seconds and move ahead of Thibaut Pinot (FDJ) into second place overall.
Quintana finished 45th on the stage, 41 seconds down, enough to secure the overall title 25 seconds clear of Dennis. Pinot held off the GC challenge of Primoz Roglic (LottoNl-Jumbo) to finish third overall.
As in 2015, Quintana’s overall victory was forged on the slopes of Monte Terminillo, where he soloed to stage victory on Saturday, and the Colombian rode assuredly through the remainder of the race to take the honours.
