World motorsport’s governing body the FIA is investigating the incident at the Japanese Grand Prix which left Jules Bianchi with serious injuries.
The 25-year-old Marussia driver from France sustained severe head injuries after his car hit a recovery vehicle that was removing another car.
He had surgery on Sunday and his condition is «critical but stable».
The FIA confirmed race director Charlie Whiting had been asked to compile a report on events leading to the crash.
