INDIANAPOLIS — Myles Turner showed up in Game 2. Victor Oladipo didn’t miss it after he got poked in the left eye in the first game of the playoff series. The Indiana Pacers still failed to solve the Miami Heat on Thursday, losing 109-100.
Duncan Robinson scored 24 points and tied a franchise record with seven three-pointers for Miami which leads the first-round series 2-0. He got the Heat out to a 12-3 lead by making three in a row and though the Pacers clawed back to take momentary leads, they mostly played from behind the rest of the way.
Turner (17 points, eight rebounds, five blocks) was able to feast with Bam Adebayo (seven points, five rebounds) in early foul trouble. He didn’t look for his shot initially, passing up looks that led to the Pacers playing late into the clock, but found his groove on both ends.
Oladipo (22 points), who’d played just 9 minutes in a Game 1 loss, went at his mismatches with Robinson and Tyler Herro (15 points) but needed to do more. He shot just 5-for-14 despite T.J. Warren (14 points) drawing most of the attention in the half court.
Oladipo’s backcourt mate, Malcolm Brogdon (17 points, nine assists), only shot 4-for-14.
►Jimmy Butler (18 points, seven rebounds, six assists) had been looking to get to the rim and set up teammates. He looked for his three at crucial times and made the Pacers, who were willing to give up that shot to a 24% shooter for the season, pay for it. Butler made made 2 of 3. His team shot 18-for-35 from beyond the arc, 51.4 percent.
